The Carrick Career Sampler is a range of interactive workshops in Melbourne and Sydney designed to give local prospective students first hand experience in your future career.
Hairdressing Workshop
Just a little off the ends thanks.
Meet your classmates as you are given a tour of Carrick’s state of the art hairdressing salons. Find out what’s involved in studying hairdressing at Carrick and the career pathways available to you. Learn correct techniques for washing, applying treatments, how to give those amazing scalp massages and the art of blow drying! Create masterpieces by learning various up styling techniques including hot iron curling and straightening.
Hospitality Management Workshop
I’ll have a martini…shaken, not stirred.
Enjoy a welcome mocktail while you meet your classmates and learn what’s in store for the day. Get the facts about studying Hospitality Management at Carrick and career pathways. Get a reality check about the hospitality industry and find out how important a hospitality manager’s role is in the scheme of things. Flip, twist and mix your way to bartending perfection by preparing mocktails, refine your barrister techniques and learn how to provide top dining service. Finish off with an introductory session on the art of recommending wines to best compliment menu items.
Commercial Cookery/Patisserie Workshop
Ready, Steady, Cook!
For those passionate about cooking and baking then this is for you. Start the day by meeting with your classmates and exploring Carrick’s state of the art kitchens. Find out what’s involved in studying cookery and patisserie and the career pathways available to you. Discussing the “boring but important” topic of OHS is a must before you work your way through either the cookery or patisserie workstations on sushi making, chocolate decorating and much more.
Take a break and enjoy the lunch you have prepared before swapping careers for the afternoon session.
